Autonomous LoRa Sensor Node
Hardware design in revisionA solar-powered, low-power field sensing platform with STM32-based control and LoRa communication, for remote and off-grid monitoring.

Three-board modular architecture: power management, controller + LoRa, and sensor interface. Not a final mechanical assembly.
What it is
The Autonomous LoRa Sensor Node is a general-purpose field sensing platform for remote and off-grid monitoring. Its electronics are split across three boards: power management, controller and LoRa, and sensor interface. It combines an STM32-based control core, LoRa communication and a solar-charged rechargeable battery. It spends most of its time in a low-power sleep state, waking on a schedule or when a sensor input crosses a configurable threshold. It is designed for environmental monitoring and for intrusion and perimeter sensing at sites without mains power or a wired network, and it is the distributed field-sensing building block of the NWIREDCORE Remote Monitoring Platform. The three-board hardware architecture is defined and is being refined before prototype fabrication. No physical prototype has been built or tested yet.

The three-board hardware architecture is defined. A connector-layout revision is planned before prototype manufacturing.

Autonomous LoRa Sensor Node — prototype manufacturing / DFM support
A manufacturing partner for prototype builds of the Autonomous LoRa Sensor Node, including design-for-manufacture (DFM) support. The three-board architecture is defined; the current hardware revision and manufacturing package are being finalised before prototype fabrication. No physical prototype has been built or validated yet.
Apply for thisSensor Node development support
We are looking for partners to support the next development stage of the Autonomous LoRa Sensor Node, including the current hardware revision, embedded firmware, low-power operation, LoRa and sensor integration, prototype bring-up and validation. Support may include funded engineering work, prototype commitments, integration work or future pilot preparation.
Apply for thisHardware distribution and regional integration
Broader distribution and regional integration relationships across the NWIREDCORE hardware portfolio are expected to become more relevant after prototype validation and initial pilot deployments.
Not accepting applications yet.
Where this comes from
The Autonomous LoRa Sensor Node was originally developed as the distributed field-sensing component of the NWIREDCORE Remote Monitoring Platform.
It provides autonomous sensing at remote sites using battery and solar power and LoRa communication.

The three-board hardware architecture is defined. A connector-layout revision is planned before the manufacturing package is prepared and the first prototype is built. Frequencies, battery life, dimensions, enclosure and certifications are not published yet and will be confirmed through prototyping.
Build on this design
This design can be a starting point for a custom project: adapted interfaces, sensors, power, communication or firmware, instead of starting from zero.
